GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT:
It is a pleasure and an honor to serve you as Grand Knight of the Father Marcel Salinas Council for the upcoming fraternal year.
First – a big shout out and a huge thanks to Dan Desjardins for leading us to a very successful 2017-2018 – with a possible Star Council status to boot. I’m sure he is delighted to have the “PAST” added to his Grand Knight’s badge. We wish Dan, Elaine and Joseph safe travels as they wend their way across the USA – Griswold style.
This upcoming fraternal year sees the rollout of a simplified program model from Supreme called ‘Faith in Action’. I will be working with the other council officers to understand how the changes will impact our programs and make the necessary adjustments. More information on this new initiative can be found further down this newsletter.
I understand that it is not possible for everyone to attend our monthly business meetings and keep abreast of what is happening in our council. To that end, I have decided to revive the monthly newsletter – of which this is the first edition.

FAITH IN ACTION:
As promised, here is a breakdown of the new Faith In Action Programs that will be the focus of the councils going forwarded. The seven previous programs have been consolidated into Faith, Community, Family and Life. Most of the programs are the same but relocated under a different program i.e. Free Throw Championship that once was listed under Youth, is now under Community. Each new program category has at least one new program and as I get additional information about those programs I will pass it on. At the July meeting I will ask for Committee chairs.
